Get Paid to Shop (Part 1)

For every person that hates shopping, there is at least one person that loves it. These people adore the shopping experience – even when it costs them a bundle. Well, the experience just got better. It might please them to know that they don't have to pay anymore. In fact they can get paid to shop – by the hour, for the items they buy, and even for the gas they use to drive to the store.

In TreasureTrainer's article "Opportunities as a Mystery Shopper" we spoke about how this too-good-to-be-true job is too real to be ignored, and how people can apply for these shopping assignments through the many online mystery shopping companies. But what kind of assignments, or "shops", will you get exactly?

Mostly sponsored by large chain retailers, you may get paid to shop anywhere from grocery stores to large department stores to smaller, specialized chains, both on the high-end and lower-end (though the higher-end stores usually pay better).

The company will invite you to shop with an email, which will usually specify the spending limit, which can vary. The email will also specify what the shopper should make note of. This will usually include customer service, the cleanliness of the store and facilities, the speed at which they were able to find what they wanted and check out, the number of carts in the parking lot, etc.
