Mystery Shopping Companies (Part 2)

Continued...

After signing up with a mystery shopping company, shoppers may start receiving assignments, or "mystery shops", almost immediately. These assignments are usually presented in an email with detailed instructions on what to look for and observe as well as payment info. Payments usually come in the form of reimbursement checks or PayPal account credit. The email will often set a spending limit, or it may offer a free dinner plus $10, or maybe a free tank of gas. Payment will vary for each assignment. Generally, the high-end companies pay more.

The frequency of jobs for mystery shoppers depends on a number of factors, such as the number of other shoppers in the location, the shopper's availability, and the quality of the shopper's responses in previous questionnaires. If an assignment is offered to a shopper, the shopper is by no means required to accept it. They can accept only the shops that are convenient for them, making mystery shopping a great way to make money for stay-at-home wives, college students, and others wanting a flexible part-time job. If they want the assignment, the mystery shopper just calls the company or emails them back to let them know.

After the shop is complete, mystery shoppers can go online and fill out the questionnaire for the company, after which they will be sent their reimbursement payment. Since mystery shopping is an important aspect of store improvement for many large chains, shoppers can find work almost anywhere in the US and Canada.
